The Troubles: the "Falls Curfew" begins in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

1975

7.30.1975

The Troubles: three members of a popular cabaret band and two gunmen are killed during a botched paramilitary attack in Northern Ireland (see Miami Showband killings).

1978

2.17.1978

The Troubles: The Provisional IRA detonates an incendiary bomb at the La Mon restaurant, near Belfast, killing 12 and seriously injuring 30.

1994

6.18.1994

The Troubles: the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF) open fire inside a pub in Loughinisland, Northern Ireland, killing six civilians and wounding five.

1998

8.15.1998
